Terms and Conditions of Sale
The conditions set out here constitute our terms of sale. Please contact us for clarity on any matter which is not clear or do not understand and note that nothing contained here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Timescales
We will endeavour to do everything we can to accommodate your order however we work to a maximum number of cakes per week.

Usually 3 months’ notice for wedding cakes and 2 weeks for celebration cakes is sufficient, with less notice required during the winter months.

Customer Satisfactions Guarantee
The price you have been quoted is based on our discussions and information supplied by you to date. The cake will not be a direct copy of any photographs or pictures supplied but will be our interpretation of your requirements. Please note that any changes made after ordering may incur extra costs.

While we take every measure possible to check orders it is also the responsibility of the customer to make sure the details given are accurate. While we will do everything we can to rectify the situation when an error is made i.e. wrong date then the responsibility lies with the customer to check the details.

A photograph of your completed cake will be sent prior to collection/delivery. Please check your cake at this point for any errors and inform us immediately so they can be changed if necessary. Should you be unhappy with the cake we will do everything we can to rectify the matter before the event. If you are still unsatisfied then we will refund the price of cake in return for the product.

If there is a design problem the cake is to be photographed and e-mailed within 48 hours of the cake being collected or delivered. Situations where the cake is eaten, and therefore not returned, vouchers may be offered.

If you have a complaint about the taste of the cake then a sample is to be provided within 24 hours.

Deposits and Payments
Once the order is placed the deposit (£50 for wedding and £25 for novelty cakes) is non-transferable and non-refundable.

The order is confirmed on receipt of the deposit and no guarantees can be given until the deposit has been paid.

All hired items require a deposit payment at the time of ordering. Items need to be returned within 7 days at which time this payment will be returned in full subject to items being in the same condition. Damaged or lost items will incur loss of your deposit (deposit costing are normally charged at replacement value).

Alternatively we do take all major card payments via a secured link – if this is your preferred method of payment please ask for further details.

Balances for wedding cakes are due 28 days before the wedding and for novelty cakes 7 days before the event.

Cancellation policy
All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable therefor if you cancel your order you forfeit monies paid.

Cancellation on celebration cake orders with less than 7 days notice are payable in full.

Cancellation of wedding cakes within 3 months of your wedding date will incur a 50% charge of your invoice. As you can appreciate, wedding dates are often booked months and even years in advance and it would be highly unlikely we would be able to fill the date in our diary at such short notice. Wedding cakes cancelled within a month of your wedding date will mean full payment is retained.

In the event that you would need to postpone your wedding please let us know as soon as possible. We will endeavour to honour your new wedding date but please note your new date may be subject to a price increase.

Delivery
When a cake is to be delivered it remains the responsibility of Elliegantly Made while in transit. Where any damage occurs then it is the sole responsibility of Elliegantly Made to make good any damage. If this is not possible, for whatever reason, then a full refund will be given.

Collection
As you will appreciate, once the cake leaves Elliegantly Made the responsibility then passes to the customer and we are not liable for any damage in transit. Please be aware that a flat surface is required to retain the stability of the cake and should be secured wherever possible to remove the risk of movement in transit - in the footwell of a car on in the boot are advisable.

Please also be aware you may need to turn the heating off and the air conditioning on in your car.

If you are unsure please ask for further advice.

Cake Storage and Best Before Dates
When you first receive your cake it should be stored in a cool dry place in the packaging provided. Do not store your cake in the fridge as this will cause the fondant to condensate.

When preparing some cakes, especially larger ones, the cakes need to be in prep for two sometimes three days before the event. While we do everything to ensure that the cake is as fresh as possible for the event the best before dates are usually within two days of the event.

To assist in prolonging the shelf life, cakes are best placed in a sealed container (please note that this will damage a sugarpaste finish). We do not accept liability for consumption from two days following the event.

Non-Edible Decorations
During the design process the customer will be informed of any non-edible decoration that will be used to construct the cake. If the customer is collecting and taking to a venue they must relay this information to the venue / hosts. If Elliegantly Made are delivering direct to the venue, full written details will be supplied.

Gift Vouchers
Vouchers are to be used to the monetary value or item value stated and are not exchangeable. Vouchers are only valid until the date printed and are not extendable.

Allergen information
Please note that although we take every care to store our allergens separately Elliegantly Made is NOT an allergen-free kitchen.

We understand the dangers and recognise the seriousness of food allergies and ask that you please inform us upon ordering of any food allergies that you may have.

We reserve the right to decline any orders for clients with serious food allergies and will not assume any liability for adverse reactions to our products.

The following ingredients are present and used in our kitchen, which may potentially result in cross contamination:
• Eggs
• Gluten and Wheat products
• Milk and other dairy products
• Nuts
• Mustard
• Sulphites
